Wanna buy the Brooklyn Bridge? No? Well, how about a Brooklyn used bookstore then? One of the owners of Freebird Books & Goods in the Cobble Hill area of the borough is looking for a new owner to take over for a departing partner. In The Brooklyn Paper's story about the search, Ariella Cohen describes the store as

one of those places where the clerks — some volunteers who live nearby and love the place as much the shop’s owners— spend more time chatting to customers than ringing up sales. It has the feel of a bohemian hangout in an off-season fishing village, more charming than profitable.

and it can boast a view of the Statue of Liberty.

Maybe the owner of Freebird should team up with the proprietor of Unnameable Books (née Adam's Books) in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. He seems to have attitude to spare for another shop. The helpful directions from the store's website:

Why is this happening? This was a lovely entry... places like these should be protected. By the way, I've been away for a while now, but I am back... promise to visit more often too :-)
