Not to be confused (please!) with another book of the same title, James Thurber's follow up to The Thirteen Clocks, The Wonderful O, which looks like this:
and is being re-released by The New York Review Children's Collection next year.
Whenever I find a used paperback copy of The 13 Clocks (the UK edition that includes both The Wonderful O, and some extraordinary illustrations by Ronald Searle) I buy it so that I can have a copy to give away.
I recently gave one to an Iraqi friend who claimed that as a child, he saw an animated cartoon of The 13 Clocks translated beautifully into Arabic. I'd love to know more about it.

PS Will the first printing of the NYRB edition of The 13 Clocks misspell Simont's first name as in the original? [It was corrected in the 2nd and later printings]
PPS Did the LA Times really write that the book was full of "spys" [sic]?
